Chama Management System ("the platform") helps savings groups (Chamas) manage members, contributions, loans, welfare and shares. This policy explains what personal data we process and how we protect it.
Data we collect
Member and administrator details (name, phone, email, national ID where provided), financial records you enter (contributions, loans, welfare, shares), and technical logs needed to operate and secure the service.
How we use it
To operate your Chama, produce statements and reports, send notifications you configure, and meet audit and record-keeping obligations. We do not sell personal data.
Isolation between organizations
Each Chama's data is isolated from every other Chama. Platform administrators can see operational metrics but not your confidential financial records.
Retention
Financial records and audit logs are retained for the periods required for auditing and legal compliance. Records are archived, never silently deleted, so history stays reconstructable.
Security
Access is controlled by role-based permissions, all sensitive actions are audited, financial history is immutable, and data is backed up regularly.
Your rights
You may request access to, correction of, or export of your personal data through your Chama administrator, subject to the record-retention obligations above.
